Tencent’s PUBG Mobile game was the top grossing mobile game in August 2021 at $270 million in player spend, according to research shared by SensorTower.
It marks a small jump of 4.7% over August 2020 and shows that gamers are still hungry for playing despite lockdowns easing.
Around 61% of PUBG’s revenues came from China, followed by the US (9%) and Turkey (7%).
The second highest earner in mobile games was another Tencent title – Honor of Kings with $256 million in gross revenues, which is 3% more than in 2020.
